First Month of 30 Sites in 90 Days
I just wanted to give a quick recap of how my first month has gone trying to build 30 sites in 90 days. I bought a huge white board which hangs above my desk where I keep track of the different sites I am building. I write down the name and what stage of production it is in. Currently there are 17 Sites up with 9 completed and the rest in various stages of production.
Even though I feel like I am making good pace, the money situation is not going so great.
If I do not run any PPC and rely only on long tail organic traffic I make about 5 dollars a day from AdSense and Affiliate links. The problem is I am hooked on PPC and CPA marketing and have been trying campaigns here and there. I have not been able to get profitable with any of them which has been a huge bummer and a HUGE waste of money.
I decided it was time to go all in so I built an amazing micro site that had all the right elements in place from SEO to PPC. Great internal linking, great calls to action, tons of quality copy. I polished up the site and launched my PPC experiment to see if all of this hard work and investment would pay off.
Here is how the campaign was launched:
I created a new PPC account hoping a fresh start would help me out. I broke out my campaigns by Content vs Search. I segmented my ad Groups into very tight groups. The keywords are all semantically similar and the traffic was sent to destination pages optimized for those keywords. I also launched four ads with two elements changed to see if there are any synergies between them.
So far it has been three days and I have blown through 60 dollars with 0 conversions. I dedicated 500 dollars to this campaign so I will continue running it a little while longer. The payout is 25 a lead so I know if I find the keywords or placements that lead to conversions I can make that money back. I just hope that I do not burn through the 500 with 0 conversions. Then I will be screwed.
Another annoying things I noticed is that my initial quality score was great. Now it is at OK. I did not change a thing and have some of the tightest groups you can imagine.
I pray that this 500 dollars will lead to some kind of learning other than don’t do PPC anymore hahaaha.
