Blogs and Web 2.0

Blogs and Web 2.0 San Francisco Bay Area

I view blogs and Web 2.0 as one in the same. They are the fundamental infrastructure of the way the web functions. What they all have in common is the ability to share information with others with ease and without much knowledge about coding or programing. When I say information it can refer to anything from personal information, news items, education, etc.

Below I have lumped some of the more popular web 2.0 entities. I know there are cross overs, and not all of the examples fit neatly in each category, but this is a great way to understand the scope of blogs and web 2.0. Also, there is one common threat which is that of “community.”

  • Publishing - Wordpress, Blogger, Typepad, Livejournal
  • Discovery - Digg, Reddit, StumbleUpon
  • Media - Flickr, Youtube
  • Information - Yelp, Wikipedia, IMDB,

This new media is great for marketers as it offers more ways that ever before to spread their message. You need an expert to understand how to navigate this new landscape since the wrong approach can easily blow out of proportion and backfire completely. This could alienate potential consumers and completely ruin your online reputation.

I have expertise in the following areas:

Blog Setup and Design - if you need help setting up your blog I can provide help from choosing the right domain name and host to picking a design and overall theme of your web site

Strategy and Copy Writing - choosing the right topics and creating link worthy content can be a great way to generate interest in your blog.

Social Media and Blog Promotion - even the best content sometimes needs a little push to break through the clutter and social media is a great way to do this

Online Reputation Management - because information travels so fast, it is important not only to monitor online chatter, but address any issues that may arise to protect your brand
