3 Weeks Later - 30 Sites in 90 Days
I thought I would give a quick update on my progress with the 30 sites in 90 days challenge. Despite my best efforts I am still in the red and continue to burn through money on a daily basis. Despite this fact, I am in very high spirits. The way I look at it, with every setback and failure I continue to learn. It is like trying to learn to ride a bike. You have to expect to fall a few times, but with every fall and wobble you get one step closer to riding with ease.
Here are the lessons I learned so far.
Stay Flexible - I had a pretty rigid plan when I started out, but I learned to roll with the punches. Like the immortal Bruce Lee once said:
Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way round or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves.
One of the spaces I am trying to get into is online dating. I think this market will continue to grow as more people get over the stigma of meeting someone online. In addition there a lot of niche dating sites popping up to address different demographics. I paid a copy writer to write some content directed towards women giving tips on the etiquette of online dating. One day my affiliate manager sent me an offer from a gay male online dating offer. So what did I do, I took the site I built and removed all clues that it was written for women, and now if a gay man stumbles across it he will have no clue it was not originally written for him.
Value Your Time - Originally my goal was to do everything myself. I started to quickly realize that it would take me forever to accomplish all of the work I wanted to. I know what things I am good at (seo and design) and what things I am not fantastic at (copywriting and ppc). What I realized is my time is better spent concentrating on the things I do well and outsource the rest.
I know that time is finite and I could spend it writing copy or building links. In an hour I can write maybe two articles of decent quality, or find a few sites to promote my website. I can get a freelancer to write those two articles for $25 and in that same time develop links that might be worth $50 to $100 dollars if I was to pay for the links.
Next week will be a bit hectic since I have to finish some consulting work, and will be flying across the country for a wedding. In order to stay on track I would need to have 10 sites ready to go. I have 14 sites but only 6 of them are ready to go, the rest are in various stages of production. My goal for next month will be to complete all 30 sites (design and copy) so the third month I can concentrate on building links for SEO and tightening up PPC campaigns. The goal is to have each site make about 5 to 10 dollars profit a day.

Easy way to get affordable copy writing is to find mediocre copy writers and have them write about things they are passionate about it. The copy is outstanding and on par with a seasoned copy writer who has to spend the majority of their time understanding the niche.
I made a free blog http://dating-sites-portal.blogspot.com/ and through some social marking I have managed to get a steady stream of traffic. The affilaites pay very well and they also have residual streams as well. I make on average £200 per day.
Thats with not much content and not too much traffic.
I think ur going about it the right way. How is ur progress so far?
My progress is not going great. I feel like I have original content, pretty good design, my problem is traffic levels. They just aren’t enough to bring in enough revenue right now.

I started my goal of building 20 sites about a month ago. The scariest part of the process is the constant doubt about whether it’s going to work.
Money seems to disappear pretty quickly when you’re paying copywriters. Although I’m paying a lot more per article than you are. Clearly I’m shopping in the wrong place…
